Saviour Church of Ghana at Osiem in the Eastern Region of Ghana was established in the year 1924. Education in the Church became one of the topmost priorities of the third (III) general Superintendent (Hon. Opanin Abraham Kwaku Adusei: a member of Council of State of the 4th Republic of Ghana) when he assumed office in the year 1997.
To realize this goal, He has established forty (40) Saviour Basic Schools across the country. The first Senior High School – Saviour Senior High School popularly known as SASHS was established in 2013/14 academic year as a Private Day/Boarding Senior High School by the leadership of the Saviour Church of Ghana with a collective effort from its members worldwide.
The Saviour Church of Ghana, the church the school is named after, headed by Hon. Opanin Abraham Kwaku Adusei, took upon himself to donate a large land size on which the school was built. Due to this connection, the logo was adopted in the school logo as well as the colours of the church as the schools’ official colours.
SASHS was absorbed into the public Day/Boarding School system in the 2014/2015 academic year by the Government of the Republic of Ghana with a student population of 270 and 27 staff for teaching, non-teaching and some national service personnel. The students population has increase exponentially to one thousand, eight hundred and eight (1,808) with staffing strength of one hundred and eighteen (118) for both teaching and non-teaching staff after five years of existence.
The Schools WASSCE examination result in 2016 for the first seating was astonishingly good. It then reflected in the subsequent seating for 2017, 2018 and 2019. The population is likely to increase to over three thousand (3,000) in view of the public status and also the large number of parents who are applying for their wards to be admitted. The school is also sited at a very good catchment area and as a result has a very prosperous future.
Past student of this school after five years in existence and four (4) seating times of WASSCE examination can be found in tertiary institutions in Ghana and around the world which most of them are on scholarships. We are also proud to say that, a student of this great school became the best 1st Cycle Medical Health Student in the Morocco Kingdom. In every top educational institution in the world, a Child of the Light (HANN MMA) is found there.
A great acknowledgment and salute goes to the benefactors, especially the leadership of SAVIOUR CHURCH OF GHANA (HON, OPANIN ABRAHAM KWAKU ADUSEI whose vision, fortitude and wisdom brought this school into being. We also acknowledge HIS EXCELLENCY THE FORMAL PRESIDENT OF GHANA, JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA, HON. SAMUEL OFOSU AMPOFO (the then Minister of local Government and Rural Development), the late HON. ASIRIFI SIMON PETER who was the then MCE for ABUAKWA NORTH, for their instrumental support for the establishment of the school and the Church (SAVIOUR CHURCH OF GHANA) for providing SAVIOUR SHS with a deep-rooted Christian and good moral foundation.
Having been appointed as the headmistress for about four (4) years now, I appreciate my responsibility to continue the dedicated effort of my predecessor and all benefactors who worked so hard to keep the level of excellence, moral and discipline that the school is noted for. Having been able to adopt another level of monitoring both staff and students alike, generating a harmonious community environment that is fostering a conducive climate which yielding the highest level of discipline and outstanding academic results we are seeing in at the school.
The exceptional excellence that the records of the school reflects since its opening on November, 2013 is indeed a manifestation of a higher notch above the wishes of its founding father and benefactors of SAVIOUR SENIOUR HIGH SCHOOL-SASHS.
The first Headmaster of the, Mr. Oware Asare Robert whose term of office ended a year after the school’s establishment, the Education Committee of the Saviour Church of Ghana and the Pioneer Staff who have done their best to inspire and endure the progress of the school since its establishment, selflessly devoting their time and effort for the continuous creation of the SASHS brand.
Aspiring for excellence and recognition as a preferred Senior High School.
